We have all known family members and friends who started acting unlike themselves as they got older, perhaps from undetected strokes, or falls, or insufficient nutrition, or from some other, sometimes unknown, cause.
What can we do to help these people, who are often unaware that anything has changed?
What physical and spiritual handlings can we employ?
Come hear Penny talk about what she has learned about all these questions, from her many years of taking care of elderly people with some form of diminished capacity and from her experience as a Scientologist.
All of us need to become educated about this subject, because one of NESI’s purposes is to keep such people off psychiatric lines.
The seminar is open to everyone - no charge for NESI members, $10 at the door for non-members, or, join NESI for $25 a year which will cover all our seminars for one year.

New Era Seniors International (NESI) is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt, public benefit organization.
NESI is secular in nature, but embraces and welcomes members of all religions, as we accept that the source of life is the intelligent spiritual being.
Our Mission:
is dedicated to helping seniors with creative solutions to problems, including direct services, seminars and counseling that overcome barriers, improve the quality of life and enhance their ability to maintain an active un-retirement. By treating seniors as valued spiritual being we help seniors to help themselves, help each other and help other generations.
Our Purposes are:
A. To provide direct services and seminars through which senior citizens may receive counseling in their financial, employment, legal, health, social activity and end of life concerns.
B. To provide centers through which the seniors may continue to enhance their well being, meet their needs for services for their general welfare, and through which their experiences, knowledge and energies can be used to benefit their community.
C. To assist all seniors who wish to remain in their own homes with programs that will promote aging in place.
D. To assure the needs of the Seniors Citizens are addressed so they are treated respectfully, as vital spirits rather than as old bodies and to liaise with those groups whose purpose is to monitor these areas.
E. To protect older adults in their vulnerable years, from the harmful psychiatric treatments and drugs that damage and dull the spirit.
F. To provide coordination for Senior Clubs, groups and volunteer programs
G. To provide facilities, through which senior citizens may interact, develop skills and meet their social, intellectual, physical and self-expressive needs.
H. Assist in provision for accessibility to senior programs and services through an effective circulation and transportation system.
I. To provide graceful and affordable living for senior citizens.
GRACE VILLAGE
LIVING FACILITIES FOR SENIORS
An initiative of New Era Seniors Inc (NESI)
When NESI was founded one of the primary purposes was to provide graceful, affordable living for seniors. In order to make this dream happen faster we are creating a for-profit arm for New Era Seniors that will create these living facilitate.
In this manner we not only provide the facilities and services but also create an opportunity for both large and small investors. NESI would be a majority stock holder and funds would flow to NESI for operation expenses and into a special trust for assistance with senior living.

The Vision: To build a network of cheerful, active, self sustaining, safe, pleasant, affordable, fully accessible, senior care environments that lift the spirit and integrate housing, services, and a healthy supportive environment for older adults. Each facility will offer independent living, assisted living , in home care and end of life/hospice care . Each facility will be bustling with active, happy, seniors who are treated as spiritual beings, who have purpose and pride in their contribution and who are giving and receiving help and spiritual assistance on a daily basis.
The facilities will be examples of up-tone, psych-free, drug-free care of the elderly and will help to elevate the standard of the whole field of senior care.
Services:
Accommodations: A variety of single, one bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments. The Universal design features of the facility will combine attractiveness and facilitate “aging in place” so that residents won’t need to move from their apartment due to physical changes. All units are designed to accommodate a senior through all phases, independent living, assisted living, in-home care and hospice care.

Definitions:
Independent Living – this is basically your own upscale apartment where you can enjoy all of the facilities, and you have the choice of doing your own cooking or having your meals cooked
Assisted Living - program allows residents to maintain their independence within a private apartment while receiving assistance with the activities of daily living. This program provides an all-important link between fully independent living and nursing care, and enables residents to continue enjoying personal, social, and recreational activities. Available services include assistance with dressing, bathing, and mobility; medication management and supervision; weekly housekeeping and linen service; safety checks; nutritional guidance; and social services.
In Home Care - provides both short-term care for individuals recovering from illness or injury, and long-term care for individuals needing more extensive services. These services are available in the resident's own apartment and include companionship, light cleaning, arranged transportation, laundry, personal care, bathing, and respite care.
End of life/hospice Care. A Philosophy and approach to providing comfort and care at life’s end rather than heroic lifesaving measures. It is supportive care not to extend life, but to control symptoms and improve the quality of life of a patient in the end stages of their life. The program provides comfort and supportive care for the senior and their families.

Integrates housing with its social and natural surroundings by incorporating community gardens, kitchen gardens, spiritual-meditation landscaping and outdoor areas.
Located near parks, library, public and private services, senior programs and services of other agencies are very accessible.
Central gourmet kitchen with kitchen gardens and dining facilities.
The staff will include special coordinators for those whose families do not live close by so that communication can be maintained through any circumstance.
Target Market
In the first three years NESI plans to open 3 or 4 facilities. One located in or near Clearwater, Florida, another in Southern California, other possibles are Nevada, Texas, Canada and England. Senior living is for those 55 years or older.
Special Features
Green building design and materials will be used to the greatest extent possible. Green building is a method of building and use of materials that protects and preserves our natural environment, creates healthier living spaces, and reduces maintenance expenses. Everything from compact energy efficient light bulbs to solar energy, heating and cooling.
GRACE VILLAGE will also offer temporary accommodations for of town families visiting GRACE VILLAGE residents. Additionally GRACE VILLAGEwill offer temporary accommodations to its resident from either coast who are visiting. For example GRACE VILLAGE residents in Southern California can find temporary residence in GRACE VILLAGE Florida.
Design promotes intergenerational relationships by creating spaces for the whole community to work together on projects and as families.
The facilities support the resident’s choices of alternate health care. Diet, health and medical alternatives are available. Each facility will have a non-denominational chapel, a chaplain and visiting minister services.
Fitness Center for physical and other therapies including a sea-water/salt-water swimming & therapy pool. On site beauty salon, store, transportation.
Management Team
Our management team is composed of NESI Board and Advisory Board members, members of the medical profession, social work, senior specialists, and financial experts and between us we have quite a few hundred years of management experience.
