INITIAL LETTER: ATHLETIC SCHEDULER, SCHOOL CALENDARS.
REFERRAL LETTER: ATHLETIC SCHEDULER, SCHOOL CALENDARS.
How to handle returned emails.
ATHLETIC SCHEDULER, SCHOOL CALENDARS.
I am in charge of athletics. However, I am not familiar with an online athletic scheduler.
ANSWER FOR ATHLETIC DIRECTORS EXPLAINING WHY WOULD THEY NEED THE AS, WHAT IT'S FOR, ETC.
We are not interested, thank you for the offer.
We use Calendar Creator for our district calendar and I am very satisfied with it. Thank you. Ann
Our athletic conference does all the scheduling. Thanks!
Thanks for your interest in our school but our needs are currently being met regarding scheduling.
I would handle the athletic schedule and our vice principal would handle the school calender. Someone in the superintendents office would handle the district calender. At this time, I am very pleased with my athletic scheduler.
It is not a financial thing. I have spent a whole year getting our entire school scheduling to be done on one scheduling program. It was a struggle, but it is now operational and everyone likes it. If I switch programs, they will kill me.
Our athletic scheduling and calendar development programs work well.
We have no need for your products. Thanks for your inquiry.
MACINTOSH
Kind of. As the all-around tech guy, most tasks seem to fall to me. Of course, your product would need to be looked at along with our Athletic Director & dist. secretary, too.
We are an all-macintosh enviornment, so any product we would even think about evaluating would have to work on the mac platform. Dave Huber
Already working with in-house program to accomplish that end. Thanks.
As District Director of Athletics I do all scheduling for our high school athletic teams and provide general supervision over the jr. high school athletic programs.
With regard to non athletic programs our district already has a rather extensive on-line calendar and scheduling software program that is provided through our district Director of Technology and administered by our central administrative office. I don't think there would be any interest in looking at a different school or district calendar and generally I am satisfied with the way we currently handle scheduling of athletics.
Let`s talk. Can you call me at 493-6013? After 8:00 am is best. Pat

Thanks!!!
Do we always have to ask for referred person's e-mail address?
Asking for referred contact's email address
I will foward this email to our AD.
Thanks, Jackie Pons
I do all the athletic scheduling for not only my school, but for our whole conference!
I could also work with the school and district calendar at Westlake, but Dawn Henning does a lot of that. Let me know what you need! Thank! Verne
SCHEDULE STAR
I currently use Schedule Star. Dr. Barbara Suelter, Superintendent, would evaluate an all events scheduler.
Mike Tracey
Athletic director
UTHS
Thanks for the information. Tim Feigh
_____________________________
Dear Tim Feigh,
Thank you for your return email. Not everyone is polite enough to at least give a simple no. It was appreciated!
Do please reconsider as we gave out over $120,000 in Grants to schools last year...
-----------------------
I am the person to contact. We are not interested in the Athletic Scheduler or school calenders. We have a scheduling program that we are happy with and work with AWA for school calenders.Tim Feigh
NB: HE IS STILL ANSWERING AND BEING POLITE EVEN WHEN HE HAD ALREADY SAID NO.
PRICIPAL asking for more info (not an Athletic Director)
I am in charge of scheduling. Kim Kolze is in charge of activities. We
work together to compete a schedule but Kim is in charge of our school
calender. Thanks.. Gene
Bob Murley is the AD, but not much of a computer user
I visited the rSchool web site and have some basic information. Do you have information that you can email me and the associated costs?
Sincerely,
Pat
LEAGUE MINDER
I already set it up through Leagueminder.com. Best, Eric
PONTEM ALL STAR SCHEDULER
we just purchased the Pontem All-Star Scheduler last year. I am very happy with it so far and am not looking for another software. The Pontem All-Star Scheduler includes many special features including an athletic calendar.
Ros Richardson
We use schedule star and yes it is online... are you a new company?
Jody
I currently work with schedule star as my athletic scheduling program.
I am not interested in a different one. As for the school calendar, I don't know what we use.
Rachel Jendras
Athletic Director
Why don't you contact me after April 5th and then we will know whether or not we even have a tech BUDGETto play with? Dave
We're not large enough to make such a scheduler necessary. Thank you for your interest. John
Vaughn is a special needs High School and participates in Special Olympics only
I would like to review a copy of your demo, please.
We are a small elementary district. We do not have an AD. I do see the benefit of this calendar program, but I do not believe it is cost effective for our small district.
I do all the scheduling for MVK and usually just use a spreadsheet.
I do the scheduling as far as athletics, but Pam Wood/and or Andy Larson would maybe be the one to contact about the district calendar.
division of labor between the school calendar and the athletic calendar
I am probably the one who would deal with athletic schedules. District and school calendar would probably work through our technology coordinator, Mary Ann Nannen.
I am the Athletic Director that schedules all athletic contests, officials, buses, and workers for these contests. Brad Detering is the principal that would complete the school calendar and other school activities.
Cornell H.S. is a deactivated high school district* that tuitions all of the students to Flanagan CUSD in Flanagan Illinois. Jim
* deactivated means that it is no longer operational and they pay this other school district instead
I need a new gym - any grants for a new gym?, Jim
_______
From Cora: is there any area where our Grants could help?
It would be our athletic director but he is retiring and we are in the process of hiring a new one.
I have looked at league minder and pontem and felt both were more than I wanted to spend as it would be a direct cost to me.
I am retiring in two years. Maybe the new person would like to change - but I am set!
"That would be me."
(very short answer, not inviting to call him nor to send him more info)
Let me throw it past my Athletic Office. I'll let them investigate with you and then they'll come back around to me if there's something to discuss further.
Thanks. John
we are a K-8 district of 204 students. We would need to probably be within a consortium concept to make something like this financially for us!!! Thanks, Bob A.
i.e., VERY SMALL K-8 DISTRICT, NO MONEY
We only have middle school basket ball for an athletic program. If this is truly a complete school and district calendar, I would be the person who would evaluate it. If it is only for athletics, our coaches would need to be involved.
NOTE: his response was 1 paragraph, trying to resolve 1 question. Our response should answer "that" question and move onto the demo.
I am and why would we be interested?
Jeff
I have no idea because we have both of those at this time and we are pleased with them.
That would be me. What are the costs? Right now I am out on medical leave.
We are looking fir a prigram that will also use to publish the calendar on our website as well as priniting paper calendars.
Julie Woods
Check back later as we are in the process of hiring a new Activities Dirctor.
1) Jim (Ppal) refers us to Jody (AD).
2) Jody finds out about us, but she's not interested on the Athletic Scheduler
3)We ask who does the School Calendar
4) Jody refers us back to Jim.
As Athletic Director I don't have ANY schedulers right now. I looked into one a few years ago (Schedule Star - I think), but I never had time to actually sit down and try to figure it out and it was only a month free trial, so needless to say, I have nothing on the computer and I do everything by hand and pencil/paper.
As far as contacting someone from the school, our computer technology person
is Tom Davis. He is the one that actually puts our schedules/lunch menu's etc... on our school website. His email address is .... Our Prinicipal is Andy Larson and his address is ... And our secretary is Pam Wood and her email address is ...
Let me know if you need anything else.
Lori
We don't have any athletics here, Cora. We're get new students each quarter so our school population is always changing. I'm not sure we could use your calendar format. But, thank you.
That would probably be me. If there is a commitment of time to look at and evaluate, this would not be a good time to do that and I would not be interested. SAM TVRDIK
Each school does their own scheduling. We assign 1 or 2 sports to each school for conference scheduling.
Please mail me information
We already use School Calendar Company for our athletic schedules and they
are put on our web site by our tech director - Pam Van Blaricon. I assume
she would be the person to talk to about district wide calendar.
go
I would like to look at what your grants are specifically asking for to
see how they would fit with our district direction document. I am sure
that we would have a technology need that would fit your grants
specifications.
Matt Lies has actually assumed the role of A.D. although on paper I am. I have forwarded this email to him. If he is interested he will let you know.
Thank you.
Darlene
Cora,
Please help me and explain exactly what it is you are wanting, and what is this for? What group is doing this? Why? Those kinds of things would help me out.
Thanks,
Mitch Wachs
I would not be the person to contact for items regarding the Middle School Activities Calendar -- that would be Ken Foster the Middle School AD.
I deal with the High School Calendar and the District Wide Calendar which encompasses all items.
Yes, as the athletic director I am in charge of the athletic schedules for our school. Could you give me some more information as to what your program can offer us? I would appreciate it.
If you would prefer coming in for a demonstration, I have some time next week that I could allow for you to come in. Just let me know what dates and times that you have available.
Hi Cora,
I am the athletic director at Bay Lane, so if you think this would be
specific to my building, I would love to talk. If you think it would be more beneficial at a district level, than our district athletic director
would be the person to chat with. His name is Scott Kugi (262-679-2300).
Take care,
Bob
Hi Cora,
Our headmaster her at Fox River Country Day, John Friborg, forwarded your email conversation to
our athletic department. Like he said we are too small to really get much use out of a program
like yours although since we are expecting a certain amount of growth over the next few years we
will keep you in mind. You asked if there was anything else that your grants could help us with,
and not knowing what these grants are set aside for I would say that our biggest need as an
athletic department is in equipment. So if there is anything that could help us there we would
love to hear more about it, but if not I can say that we are glad to have you on our radar screen
and if your service ever seems to be something that would fit for our school we will look you up.
Thank you so much for the offer,
Reid Charlston
Our administrators meet for the Northwest District and we co-ordinate a
common calendar for our schools. Thank you, Mr. Fox
Please remove me and the district from your list. If we ever evaluate the needs of the district to include an auto scheduler, I will keep your email on file and contact you.
Bradford G. Saron
Our schedules are currently posted on a web site:
School center.com
Thanks
Mary Jo
Athletic Secretary
Is this something our school is doing all ready?? I am not aware of this.
Please explain, if you could.
Randy
Mr. Bud Mayo However; we do not have a VHSL program. Currently our field has been dedicate to Parks and Recreation for a Little League team. We do not have a gymnasium. Would you be interested in getting us a gym?
Beverly R. Wilson Principal
In this case the query is signed by a principal and so she decides on the budget, therefore the change in the answer.
I am no longer at Palmetto Elementary School...
Dear Barry Kamrath,
Is there any other area where our Grants can help?
Best,
Cora
You now have my attention. Talk to me about the $....
We have Schedule Nowmand and we're paid up through the next two years
DYNACAL
We are currently using Dynacal services are are pretty happy with
their product.
Good morning, Ms. Andrews. I am the facility scheduler for Mason City
Schools, but I'm not sure that I have what you want. I reserve facilities for athletic events - but our Athletic Dept uses a national program called "Schedule Star" to post athletic events on line. Our district calendar is posted on line - but unfortunately I am not connected to it so it may be outdated within a few minutes of when it is posted.
We have just purchased an internet program for the next year that we
have not implemented yet. It is School Dude and is internet based.
Does this answer any questions - if not, how may I help you?
Debbie
We are closing at the end of the year!
We have schedulestartNOW. Also...it syncs with Dynacal...which is what our school uses as a school calendar.
In the past we have tried to do things district wide for our high and Middle Schools. Is your software able to allow 3 or more schools to schedule on the same software independently and then while maintaining their independent schedules allow for a combined schedule for the district? Ed Zink is our Athletic Director at the High school, Joe Johnson and Dave Meckstroth is our MS coordinators. We presently use
Schedule Star and we are fairly pleased with it.
Denton
Cora-
I will say you are persistant!
Five of our eight county ADs use Schedule Star on the web. The other three will be using it next year.
Human nature being what it is, you will not be able to change the five who
have been using it for several years- they/we have two much time invested in
it. If the shoe were on the other foot, you would not want us dropping you going to another product.
If you have information that you can send me, I will be glad to take a look
but please understand that Schedule Star seems to be providing what we
need.
Thank you
Yes.
From what I have seen of the scheduler, it is an on-line scheduler. I would not be interested in that. I would be interested in software that was LAN based with the capability to be updated by the administrator anywhere via the Internet. I am not a "lover" of Internet based programs.
I would be if speed was not an issue, but until it is not, that is where I stand.
Thanks,
Yes. We are currently using Dynacal services are are pretty happy with their product.
The Peachtree MS School and District Calendar is a calendaring system is
called "WebEvent View" which the DeKalb County School purchased and is
currently being utilized by all Local School and a few Departments.
Since we currently own this product, I am uncertain as to how an evaluation of
the product could help.
Craig
We currently use Schedule Star in the league. It sounds like this would be a duplication of computer programs, is this the case?
Jeff Moore
NOTE: By duplicate of computer programs, he means that AS is very similar to Schedule Star so it would be redundant to buy it.
From what I have seen on the websites listed below, the program we are
currently using is much better.
Thank you for your time.
Chas DeWitt
Did our district approach you about this or where is this request coming
from?
How did you get my email from?
From what I have seen on the websites listed below, the program we are currently using is much better.. Chas DeWitt
Q: Out of curiosity which scheduling program are you using? Is it online, real time?
A:Yes. It is esitetrak.
Cora
I guess it would be myself. You know that almost everyone uses a product called schedule star. Would this be a product that is in competition with it? I would be willing to help out but need a little more info.
Thanks
Bob
Yes, I am very interested in your grant opportunities. We could use
assistance in working one on one with our students to make connections for
job shadow and internship opportunities...
In person and you need to schedule via my secretary.
